Not every PDF form is built the way it looks. Plenty of forms you download from a government site, an employer or a school are what's known as "flat" PDFs — they're laid out to look like a form, with lines and boxes, but there's no interactive field underneath any of it. Scanned paper forms are the same: an image of a document, with no field data at all. Most PDF viewers just tell you the form can't be filled and stop there.
This tool treats that as the normal case rather than an error. You can click anywhere on the page — on the blank line after "Name:", inside a drawn checkbox, next to a signature line — and place exactly the kind of content that spot needs: typed text, a checkmark or cross, a date, your initials or a full signature. Everything you place can be dragged, resized and edited afterward, so you're not committed to getting the position perfect on the first click.
Under the hood, this only works because the tool renders your PDF's actual page content and lets you position new content against it pixel by pixel, in the PDF's own coordinate space — so what you see while filling it out is exactly what ends up in the exported file, including on rotated pages.

- How do I know if my PDF is fillable or not?
- You don't need to check beforehand — upload it and the tool detects this automatically. If it finds real form fields it highlights them; if it doesn't, it lets you fill the page manually instead.
- Can I still fill a form that's a scanned image?
- Yes. A scanned form has no field data at all, but you can place text, checkmarks and a signature directly on top of the scanned image, the same way you would with a flat, non-fillable PDF.
- Will my text end up in the right place when I print or reopen the PDF?
